Funyy people, depression and empathy

Do people who have a good sence of humor get depressed more often ’cause they can empathize better with others?

My theory is, that people with a good sence of humor understand what others want to see and hear, what they find funny… But it also means they empathize more deeply with others and consequentially focus on other people’s feelings more than on their own.

Relaxed enough to completely neglect their own personal issues to the point when it gets really hard to solve them.

And once they do focus on themselves, they often find out they’ve been neglecting their own feelings too much.

Empathy is our biggest chance

The only way humanity can progress without getting hurt badly by environmental disasters is to work together. Developed countries don’t event know what the rest of the world is doing, let alone understanding it.

People who don’t have a clue about each other, can’t successfully cooperate. It takes empathy to understand each other, to cooperate and save our selves. How can we enhance our empathic capatibilities?

About the near-future of cars and what that means, part 1

UPDATE, 7.12.2016: VW to compete with Uber and Tesla with their own fleet management company MOIA:

The car will change from a prized posession into a tool. Software will take over, turning car manufacturers into self-driving and self-teaching and learning fleet managers. Consequently, the energy sector will have to change to adapt to rising number of EV and PHEV loads on the network. The internal combustion engines will have to evolve, but not only for personal vehicles, (probably just for the next 20 years), but for base-energy supply from natural gasses. Batteries will become cleaner and more efficient. Last but not least: there will be new taxes related to cars.

Growth of EVs
Growth of EVs

STEP 1: (2018 – 2021)

Car sharing will spread rapidly as automation of driving is more perfected. Large auto manufacturers will start purchasing automation companies and transforming themselves to fleet management companies. Right now, the main reasons for purchasing a personal vehicle include among other, less important things: looks, the way it drives, safety, personal affinity to a brand; As cars will become capable of driving autonomously, the way they feel when driving will become irrelevant. The way how well and fast cars respond to surrounding circumstances however, will matter a lot more. And this depends on the learning algorythms of the car and it’s capability to share information with other vehicles around it. At the fleet company, supercomputers will constantly communicate with cars, who will be monitoring their surroundings and analyzing every square millimeter of the road and sending the results back to the fleet company base.

That’s why the race for satellite internet is on the way. The fleet companies with the most efficient vehicle-to-base and vehicle-to-vehicle communication will accumulate the most of the market for personal and mass transit.

That is also why car manufacturers are already purchasing autonomus driving software and artificial intelligence development companies. In my opinion, we will witness the rise of companies with strong ties to software companies. Tesla on its own (perhaps also with Google, Tomtom and Bosch) by 2018. Chinese Baidu most probably with BYD by 2019. Daimler, Renault, Nissan and Mitsubishi with Samsung and Nokia’s precision mapping by 2020. Volvo and Geely with Uber by 2020, GM and Lyft also by 2020. Ford with Velodyne by 2021. Let’s not forget the giants like Google with Bosch and TomTom, and Microsoft and Apple, they will not stay still despite all the latest failures.

Inner cities will be off limits to vehicles with internal combustion engines (ICE) by 2020, until then, taxes on ICE’s will be raised to gradually lower their numbers, while increasing the sales of PHEVS and EV’s. While the battery industry is still underdeveloped to fully support it, EV’s will slowly take over.

THIS WILL LEAD TO THE CREATION OF SEVERAL NEW ENERGY-BASED INDUSTRIES, WHICH ARE NOW VERY SMALL: point-of-charge POC) network management companies, energy storage and energy management facilities, which will be based on EV battery recycling and re-use; Because the grid will be overloaded, either parallel renewables grids will be made or vehicle-to-grid networks will be setup, as first intended by Betterplace LLC. Energy quality management will become common-place for every industry to maintain something resembling a sinusodial and constant voltage without interruptions.

Due to more volatile weather, we will need an alternative to base-energy producing facilities like nuclear, coal and gas power plants, and the only way is revolutionizing the current ICE’s and finding a way to chemically clean natural gasses. Currently the best hope is turning natural gases from degrading waste into energy. Currently existing ICE’s are not capable of buring pure natural gases, they need highly flammable additives + they need to be consumed to avoid build-up on the ground, which would cause massive explosions.

IT WILL ALSO LEAD TO RAPID DEVELOPMENT OF MORE EFFICIENT AND NATURE-FRIENDLY BATTERIES. By 2020 batteries will become part of new residential buildings. Batteries will most likely be graphene-based and will reach a price of under $50 for 1kWh at 1,25kg of weight. (Currently at 0,4 kWh/ kg)

Too much information

It’s extremely unlikely that we can make right decisions with false information. We have too much false information surrounding us.

It is true everybody should have the right to express their own opinion, it is not true all information should be publicly accessible because a lot of it is false or misleading. Therefore, if you want to make your opinion publicly accessible, it should pass some kind of a “is it true” filter.

Filter should be set up by historical facts, scientific truths and open matters (can’t be proved or disproved)

Which means that if I wanted to set up a site which talks about a bunch of bullshit, lies, false propaganda, I couldn’t do it or get Google to index it ect..

If I were a publicly elected person that gets a lot of media attention, my statements would have to be truth-filtered.

Habits to succeed – even though they’re laid out here, you won’t do them

  • the most important habit is to have some alone time. link
  • Repeat routines until they are almost perfect, don’t stop repeating
  • exercise in the afternoon
  • separate work and home environments
  • work through your limitations
  • sake up early, work until midday, take a break
  • eliminate unnecessary decisions
  • record your daily successes and frustrations

Turn fame to progress

I want to make famous people turn their stardom into progress motivation. People are willing to do, give and change things in return to hang out with people they adore.

I will make a project that connects famous people and organizations with people who either have money, services or materials that can be used to make this world a better place. I will try and motivate people to donate a certain amount of money for a project reward until enough money, materials or services are attained through which a project can be completed.

In my country taxes are a problem, so this all needs to be on a non-profit donation level if possible.

Example – goal: purchase certain medical equipment for the children’s pediatric hospital. Rewards: drinks with famous person A, lunch/dinner with famous person B, attend event of famous person C, get personal artifact of famous person D, all in return for different amount of money.

It’s jan 14th today, by Feb 14th I want to have a list of Slovene celebrities and the tasks they could perform.

No more political parties

The political system is unfortunately too similar to the existing educational system: it doesn’t allow individualism, it promotes mass-thinking based on a certain group of people. The school system is age-based on an industrial way of teaching all children in the same way.

The sheer notion that there are large groups of politicians who share the same opinion about hundreds, sometimes thousands of different topics they need to vote about is insane. In smaller countries especially, these parties often struggle to find people to fill the positions they’ve ‘taken over’ depending on the coalition agreement among winning parties at the last election.

Every politician should fulfil basic requirements: knowledge, experience, expertise, ability to communicate, and every politician should represent themselves, not as a member of a party. People should elect able-minded representatives to any public highly responsible position, these positions should not be handed down the party-loyalty chain.

No experience and top-level knowledge = no highly responsible position

People with highest responsibilities in any political level need to understand what they are doing from a practical point of view. They need to have real-life experience in the field which they want to be in charge of. And they have to be good at what they did.

This will eradicate the gaps between strategy and law makers and citizens and drastically lower the amount of stupid decisions disconnected with real-life.

Someone who has been a loyal member of a certain political party since they were a student, and they have the right level of education, but they only did a year of work prior to being elected to a highly responsible political position, should not be able to assume a position which can impact a country.

You can’t change systems without changing people

Systems are run and controlled by people. If systems do need change, that means people who run them need to understand the change, therefore they need to change their beliefs, goals, motivation etc. with regards to the changes in the system they are a part of.

And the biggest war of all wars is the war within a person.

The world wars were all wars of beliefs of people. Had a war of beliefs been started inside Hitler’s head, Mein Kampf would not have been written and the real WWII might not have happened the way it did.

To start any change at all, no matter how small, is a revolution. People are not mature enough to accept the need to change their lifestyles in order to allow further positive evolution of nature and mankind. We see privileges as rights, our rights as possessions of countries and countries as achievements. Consequently, to be born in an economically stable country, having the chance to pay taxes, gives that country and its citizens the right to value their lives over the values of lives of people who were born in economically crippled countries. Would you compromise on your comfort or on comfort of someone close to you in order to do something for nature or mankind? Statistics say you wouldn’t.

That is why giving people true knowledge of what the real situations are around the globe, are essential. Because they need to understand. And that is why misleading or false information spreading should be a crime. So the real question behind each problem that demands a change should be: how can I make the people who are involved understand?

Problem ranking

There is no problem ranking, all we know is what is most reported on – we are addicted to existing information overload and mainstream media. And we can not have any common, global sense of our priorities according to highest ranked problems.

In my personal opinion everything should be based on our support and functioning systems – nature.

  1. our way of life is not sustainable – We need to start being sustainable and stop using more than we can. We need to learn how to cooperate in order to solve that problem.
  2. ineffective education system – people need to be able to understand their surroundings, them selves and need to know how to recognize and solve problems in the most optimal way.
  3. cooperation – we need to start working together, we are not capable of doing that right now. Working together does not mean just international cooperation but ‘inter-income’ level cooperation.
  4. procrastination and ineffective use of resources – we spend more on wars then we do on helping our selves by eradicating poverty, hunger and ignorance.
